Nagaland records 69 new Covid-19 cases, 57 recoveries; 3.06 lakh infections in India

Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 69 Covid-19 positive cases on Monday, taking the tally to 33, 654 and active caseload to 693.

The state’s cumulative recoveries have increased to 30,919 with recovery of 57 more patients in the last 24 hours and the death toll increased to 690 with one fresh fatality. 

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 38 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, 15 in Kohima, five in Mokokchung, six in Wokha, three in Peren, one each in Phek and Tuensang. Of the fresh recoveries, 44 were in Dimapur, nine in Kohima, two in Peren and one each in Tuensang and Wokha.

Out of the 693 active cases in the state, 598 are asymptomatic, 87 mild, five moderate on oxygen, one on ICU without ventilator and one in ICU on ventilator

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 501 infections, 115 in Kohima, 29 in Peren, 14 in Mokokchung, 20 in Wokha, six in Phek, three each in Zunheboto and Mon and one each in Kiphire and Tuensang, while Longleng is currently Covid-free.  

India logs 3.06 lakh cases

Meanwhile, India reported 3,06,064 (3.06 lakh) new coronavirus infections, taking the tally to 3,95,43,328 and the active caseload to 22,49,335, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated at 8 am on Monday.

The country’s death toll due to the pandemic has climbed to 4,89,848 with 439 fresh fatalities and 2,43,495 recoveries in the last 24 hours pushed the total recoveries to 3,68,04,145.

A total of 162.26 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, the ministry updated.
