Nagaland records 63 new Covid-19 cases, death toll rises to 600

Dimapur, Aug. 27 (EMN): Nagaland saw a single-day rise of 63 Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the state’s tally to 29,841, while active caseload decreased to 818 following the recovery of 79 more patients.
The state also registered two more fatalities in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 600, while the total number of recoveries rose to 27,535.
The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 63 new cases detected on Friday, 24 were in Dimapur, 14 in Kohima, 10 in Mokokchung, five in Longleng, three each in Phek and Zunheboto, two in Kiphire, and one each in Mon and Peren.
On Friday, 33 patients recovered in Kohima, 23 in Dimapur, 14 in Mokokchung, six in Zunheboto and two in Peren.
Nagaland currently has 818 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 643 are asymptomatic, 134 mild, 15 moderate on oxygen, 10 severe on oxygen, nine in ICU without ventilator, and seven in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases Dimapur leads with 296, followed by Mokokchung with 205, 184 in Kohima, 23 each in Zunheboto and Wokha, 22 in Mon, 21 in Phek, 16 in Longleng, 12 in Kiphire, nine in Tuensang, and seven in Peren.
