Nagaland records 132 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths in last 24 hours

Dimapur, July 15 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 132 new Covid-19 positive cases on Thursday, taking the state’s tally to 26,381.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 132 new cases detected on Thursday, Kohima reported highest infections with 72, followed by Mokokchung- 26, 18 in Dimapur, seven in Kiphire, four in Tuensang, two each in Longleng and Peren and one in Wokha. 

The state also recorded 97 recoveries in the last 24 hours, out of which 28 each were in Dimapur and Mokokchung, 13 in Kohima, 11 in Mon, nine in Zunheboto, four in Phek, three in Peren and one in Longleng.

The death toll in the state remained unchanged at 502 with no fresh casualties reported in the last 24 hours, while the cumulative recoveries increased to 24,084.

Nagaland currently has 1050 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 847 are asymptomatic, 144 mild, 19 moderate on oxygen, 22 severe on oxygen, 10 in ICU without ventilator, and eight in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Kohima has 325 infections, 253 in Mokokchung, 251 in Dimapur, 35 in Wokha, 32 in Kiphire, 31 each in Tuensang and Zunheboto, 25 in Mon, 23 each in Phek and Longleng, and 21 in Peren.

More than 41K new cases in India

India recorded 41,806 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, pushing the country’s active caseload to 4,32,041 (4.32 lakh) and tally to 3,09,87,880 (3.09 crore), according to data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The death toll climbed to 4,11,989 (4.11 lakh) with 581 fresh fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 3,01,43,850 people have so far recovered from Covid-19, out of which 39,130 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.

India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 39 crore with 39,13,40,491 vaccine doses been administered through 49,41,567 sessions so far.
