Nagaland receives INR 809 crore in latest tax devolution

DIMAPUR — The union government released an additional instalment of tax devolution of INR 1,42,122 crore to strengthen the hands of state governments for financing various social welfare measures and infrastructure development schemes on February 29.

This release is on top of the tax devolution of an instalment of INR 71,061 crore already made on February 12, and with this release, the states received a total of three instalments of tax devolution in February. Nagaland has received a share of INR 809 crore.

Northeast state-wise breakdown of amounts released on February 29:

Assam: INR 4,446 crore

Arunachal Pradesh: INR 2,497 crore

Manipur: INR 1,018 crore

Meghalaya: INR 1,090 crore

Mizoram: INR 711 crore

Nagaland: INR 809 crore

Sikkim: INR 551 crore

Tripura: INR 1,006 crore
