Nagaland receives INR 139 crore under NEC schemes

Dimapur, Dec. 22 (EMN): The Ministry of Development of North-East Region (DoNER) has disbursed an amount of INR 139.54 crore to Nagaland under North Eastern Council (NEC) schemes from 2019-20 to 2021-22, and the state has utilised an amount of INR 142.87 crore.

This was informed by the Minister of DoNER, G Kishan Reddy, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

He also updated the year-wise Budget Estimates (BE), Revised Estimates (RE) and Actual Expenditure (AE) of the Ministry of DoNER from 2019-20 to 2021-22, and the state-wise disbursement and utilisation of funds under schemes of NEC, excluding the amount disbursed to agencies other than state government agencies during the last three years (2019-20 to 2021-22). 

He also updated that the ministry of DoNER has sanctioned 41 projects worth INR 90 crore under Hill Area Development Programme (HADP). He stated that the HADP of the ministry of DoNER was launched on pilot basis for two years (2018-19 and 2019-20) in Tamenglong (now Tamenglong and Noney) district of Manipur.

Under HADP, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region has sanctioned 41 projects worth INR 90.00 crore. There is no plan to expand the scope of the programme, he added.
