Nagaland: Ravi, Rio extends Mongmong greetings

Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister Neiphu Rio have greeted the Sangtam community on the occasion of Mongmong festival.

According to a Raj Bhavan statement, the governor stated that Nagaland is lush with diverse culture; and called for preservation and promotion of the rich culture and tradition of the Naga tribes.

“He hoped that the younger generation, while keeping pace with the modernity, will carry forward their culture and tradition and display their skills and knowledge of their ancestral history. Governor Ravi wished the community prosperity in all spheres of life and prayed to almighty to bring about success to the people of Nagaland in general,” it stated.

Rio took to Twitter to wish the Sangtam community. “Greetings to the Sangtam community of Nagaland on the happy occasion of Mongmong. May the celebration of the festival bring lasting peace and strengthen bonds,” he wrote.
