Dimapur, Aug. 11(EMN): Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorms and lightning is expected in Nagaland from August 12-15, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
On August 12, heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Nagaland as well as the other northeastern states including Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, IMD said.
Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) are expected at isolated places over south Assam Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur , Mizoram and Tripura and other states, it stated.
On August 13, there will be heavy to very heavy rainfall in Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland Mizoram and Tripura, and on August 14, heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. On August 15, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
District-wise weather forecast in the state, according to the IMD, showed that on August 12, there will be scattered rainfall in Wokha, Zunheboto, Kohima and Dimapur, and fairly widespread rainfall in Peren, Phek, Kiphire, Tuensang, Mokokchung, Longleng and Mon district.
On August 13 and 14, there will be widespread rainfall in Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, and Peren district, scattered rainfall in Wokha, Zunheboto and Dimapur district and fairly widespread rainfall in Mokokchung, Kiphire, Phek and Kohima districts.
On August 15, there will be scattered rainfall in Mokokchung, Kohima, Peren and Longleng district, widespread rainfall in Wokha and Zunheboto districts and isolated rainfall in Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire, Phek and Dimapur districts.
