Nagaland Pollution Control Board notifies recyclers of waste tyre
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) has informed that the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has notified the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2022 for the effective management of waste tyres through the EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) regime.
In compliance with the rules, an online waste tyre portal has been developed and is available at https://www.eprtyrescpcb.in/, the NPCB stated in a notice.
“Producers and recyclers of waste tyre are required to register on this portal developed by Central Pollution Control Board. Furthermore, tyres and tubes vulcanisation/hot retreading tyres and tube retreading (without boilers) are directed to apply for consent to establish/operate under Air/Water Acts from the Nagaland Pollution Control Board,” the notice read.
