NPCB organises environmental awareness programme in Wokha

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) has organised a one-day environmental awareness programme at the Regimental School, DEF Wokha, on Tuesday.
An update from the Board stated that the programme sought to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment, focusing on air quality, waste management and sustainable living.
The programme began with a welcome address delivered by Richard Patton, teacher in-charge, followed by sessions led by three expert resource persons namely Akangmeren Imchen (scientist-C), Limitsa Sangtam (scientist-B) and Nikato Swu (junior environmental engineer).

The resources persons have encouraged the students to be vigilant and play the role of life changers in keeping the environment clean and free from pollution. Students were also encouraged to be "green ambassadors” and also inspired to take active steps toward a cleaner, healthier environment.
It further stated that students have joined in discussions on reducing plastic use, conserving energy and focus on air quality, waste management and sustainable mission life.
