Dimapur, Oct. 18: The Nagaland Police organised its 14th State-Level Debate Competition on human rights issues under the aegis of the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi, at Rhododendron hall, Police Complex, Chumoukedima in Dimapur on October 18.

Addressing the event, Imlisunep, IGP (NPTO) Nagaland, briefed the aim of Nagaland Police stating that ‘no one shall abuse the right and dignity of any other human being’. He assured that Nagaland police stand to ensure the human rights of every individual is protected under the law.

However, he lamented that the human kind of the present generation have failed to realise the true meaning of life and so the approach to life has become disoriented.

Team DEF Kohima won the debate on the topic “Naga customary practices and traditions are in tune with the changing times”, defeating DEF Dimapur the reigning 2018 champion. In individual category, Havaldar Hipadlak, DEF Phek, was adjudged the best speakers while WPC Holika K Achumi, DEF Kohima was the runner-up. LDA Lezote-u, 5th NAP BN, and UBSI Athiubo Zlg. CP Dimapur bagged the third position.

Certificates were given to all the 15 participants of the debate.
