DIMAPUR — Continuing with its statewide operations to combat the menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), Nagaland Police has registered a total of 57 cases and arrested 90 persons between September 1 and October 15.
Under narcotics and psychotropic substances, police recovered 8005 nos of Spasmo Proxyvon capsules and other tablets, 5778.71 gram of brown sugar and crystal meth, and 213.53 gram of heroin. In this connection, a total of 36 cases have been registered and arrested 66 persons, a DIPR report stated.
Police also recovered 1659 bottles and 199.15 litre of liquor and has registered 15 cases and also arrested 16 persons.
Besides, police also recovered 19 nos of arms and ammunitions and has registered 6 cases and arrested 8 persons.
Report stated that intensive checking of vehicles (MVCP), raids and checking of hotels, restaurants etc., are being carried out on a continuous basis to prevent any such illegal activity.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Police appealed to the public to provide information of sale/ distribution of any form of narcotics, drugs, IMFL etc., to the nearest police station or narcotic police station or on ‘Call your cop’ mobile App or the Madeinagaland platform. It informed that the identity of the informant would be kept confidential.
