Nagaland Police appeals citizens to report election malpractice, violence
The Nagaland Police department has appealed to all citizens to report or share videos of election malpractice and violence to the department’s WhatsApp number 6009359787 or email to nagapolice23@gmail.com, which are customised to receiving such complaints.
Nagaland Police in an update stated that in the past few days, Nagaland has witnessed an escalation of acts of violence, particularly amongst the supporters of political rival candidates, and what started as acts of stone pelting and destruction of private property has led to the loss of human life.
The Nagaland Police and the Central Police forces are trying their best to restore normalcy by taking to task all such elements who are trying to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the state and hijack the democratic rights of the citizens through force and violence, it stated.

“However, our success rate will be higher if law-abiding citizens of the state come forward and assist us in this task of ensuring free and fair elections. It has also been observed that people are sharing their criticism of such acts on social media by uploading the malpractice and election violence,” Nagaland Police stated.
“Unfortunately, by the time, the social media post garners enough traction the offenders disappear and irreparable damage is done,” it added.
Stating that any information received on time can save a life and also help identify the accused and offenders, Nagaland Police appealed to citizens to promptly report or share election malpractice and violence to the department’s WhatsApp number or email.
