Nagaland PHED minister inaugurates water supply project in Aboi
Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN): Nagaland PHED minister, Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated a water supply project in Aboi town under Mon district on Thursday. The facility was constructed under Non Lapsable Central Pool Resources (NHCPR) funded by the ministry of DONER for Aboi and Longching headquarters.
The dedicatory ceremony was performed by Rev. Yeanphong, pastor of Aboi Town Baptist Church, stated an update from the PHE department.
Speaking on the occasion after unveiling the plaque, Jacob Zhimomi, stated that Mon district was fortunate to receive the project. He added that with the inauguration of the project, the duration of fetching water for Aboi and Longching would be reduced considerably.
He has also sought unity among the Nagas for progress and development.
The guest of honour and MLA from 47 Aboi AC, Eshak Konyak, expressed gratitude to the minister, PHED department, and Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for bestowing the much needed project in Mon district.
The technical report was presented by Repangyanba Longkumer, chief engineer of PHED, Nagaland. According to him, the project was constructed with an estimated cost of INR 965,98 lakh funded by the government of India and state government at the ratio of 90:10. The construction work began in 2019 and commissioned on December 8, 2022.
Short speeches were delivered by Shahang Konyak, president of KU, Aboi unit, and E Mhonbemo Patton, principal secretary of PHED.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Lutho Katiry, executive engineer of PHED, Mon.
