Dimapur, Jan. 7 (EMN): Vivotso Theyo today won the 6th Nagaland Open Pcheda competition organised by Tragopan Club at Viswema village, Kohima district.
Altogether 85 competitors from different community participated in the competition, wherein the second position went to Neisal Theyo while Kidese Theyo and Villo Naleo bagged the third and fourth position.
Nokhrul Vitsu bagged the viewers’ choice award and Vikuo Metha as the oldest participant.
Additional Development Commissioner, Planning and Coordination Department, Nosazol Charles attended the occasion as the special guest in the presence of Advisor for Youth resources and Sports, Zale Neikha, who is also the former president of Tragopan Club.
Addressing the gathering, Nosazol encouraged the organisers to promote and practice indigenous games which are rarely being practiced. He also challenged the youngsters to actively participate in other indigenous games and also work towards making Viswema village as one of the first indigenous game village in the state.
Chairman R Khel of Viswema Village Kehise Kin attending the valedictory function exhorted the gathering and also distributed the awards.
