Nagaland Olympic: Ricky Hinglak, Kesinuo Dzüvichü clinch gold in table tennis singles

Kohima, Aug. 26 (EMN): The table tennis event of the 2nd Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022 concluded on Friday evening at the State Indoor Stadium in Kohima.
In the men’s team table tennis, Seyievilie Seyie, Kevirielie Dzüvichü, Kelhouravi Vivian Rutsa, Meyinukshi Longkumer and Limasanen from Kohima won the gold medal.
Chümoukedima fetched silver through Toshi Imchen, Chonbenthung Ovung, Kevilevor Metha, Kevichatuo Liezietsu and Vicky Kumar Das while Dimapur bagged the bronze through G Hekito, Hito Shohe, Imsumongba and Anuj Kumar Jain.
In the women’s team event, Kohima team comprising of Zelhouneinuo Rame, Vichaduonuo Rame, Kesinuo Dzüvichü, Letsonuo Kire and Pekrusenuo Yiese won the gold while Chümoukedima comprising Viphretuonuo Meze, Akuonuo K Yhome, Sharon, Keneilhovinuo and Pongmei bagged silver respectively.
Mokochung bagged the bronze medal through Kikarenla, Satemmongla Yaden, Putusenla, Wabenglemla Longkumer.
In the men’s singles category, Ricky Hinglak of Nuiland, Vicky Kumar (Dimapur) and Kevirielie Dzüvichü of Kohima bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In the women’s singles event, Kesinuo Dzüvichü of Kohima, Avitoli K Yepthomi (Nuiland) and Akshita Sethi (Dimapur) bagged gold, silver and the bronze in the order.
In the men’s doubles, Kohima team comprising Seyievilie Seyie and Kelhouravi Rutsa won the gold medal.
Ricky Hinglak and L David of Niuland fetched the silver while Tekhe and Tsakhe of Phek bagged bronze respectively.
In the women’s doubles, Zelhouneinuo Rame and Kesinuo Dzüvichü from Kohima received the gold medal while Nancy Oinam and Akshita Sethi from Dimapur and Hintoli and Avitoli of Nuiland bagged the silver and bronze respectively.
In the mixed doubles, Nuiland’s Ricky and Avitoli K Yepthomi bagged gold while Kelhouravi Vivian Rutsa and Vichaduonuo Rame from Kohima won silver and Anuj Kumar Jain and Akshita Sethi from Dimapur bagged bronze.
Lhoulievi Belho, general secretary of Nagaland Table Tennis Association, informed that altogether, 103 players from 12 districts competed in the discipline.
In the table tennis event which began from August 23, the men’s team comprised of 12 districts which were further divided into two groups while women’s team included 10 districts divided into two groups.
Belho informed that the turnout of participants was comparatively more this year with the formation of new districts by the government.
The 12 districts which took part in the competition were Chümoukedima, Tuensang, Zunheboto, Mon, Mokochung, Nuiland, Wokha, Kohima, Phek, Dimapur, Peren and Tseminyu.
