Nagaland Olympic Association unveils official logo of 3rd North East Olympic Games 2024
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has unveiled the official emblem of the much-anticipated 3rd North East Olympic Games, which will be held in Nagaland from March 18 to the 23rd, celebrating the unity, camaraderie, cultural diversity and vibrant spirit of the region besides competitions in several sporting disciplines.
The emblem, which encapsulates the vibrant spirit of Northeast India’s participation in the global sporting arena through a captivating visual representation of unity, diversity, and sporting prowess, was conceptualized and created by Sungtirong Imchen, Creative Director of Kaki Marketing, in collaboration with the NOA, said an update received here on Monday.
“At the heart of the emblem lies a circular motif, symbolizing unity and harmony, surrounded by nine curved stripes radiating from the outer edge towards the centre. Eight of these stripes intricately mimic the unique patterns of hornbill feathers, symbolizing the eight states of Northeast India – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura,” it said about the emblem.
While the feather-like stripes symbolize the region’s rich cultural heritage and diversity as well as its shared aspirations, the ninth stripe embodies the iconic Olympic torch.
Athletes from the eight north-eastern states will compete in 16 diverse sporting disciplines which will be held at Chümoukedima, Dimapur, and Kohima districts starting March 18.
