DIMAPUR — Commemorating the 269th birth anniversary of Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, the founder and father of Homoeopathy, Integrated Ayush Hospital (IAH) at Razha in Chedema under Kohima district observed the ‘World Homoeopathy Day’ on Wednesday on the theme “Empowering research, enhancing profiency: A homoeopathy symposium.”
An update from IAH stated that over 90 persons including the staff of IAH Razha Chedema, AYUSH medical officers, students from Government High School Sakhabama, village council members and the public from neighbouring villages attended the programme.
It stated that Dr. Khonuo Mary Belho delivered the welcome address and highlighted various activities carried out by the department of AYUSH and the facilities and treatments available at the Integrated Ayush Hospital in Chedema.
Dr. Lorenbeni Z Jungio, MD and MO of Homoeopathy at IAH, spoke on the importance and significance of homoeopathy and how it has long been practiced as a safe effective alternative health system.
She stressed on the importance of homoeopathy in the modern healthcare system, focusing on the theme and urged the public and participants present to adopt healthy lifestyle to promote homeopathy through awareness and avail the homoeopathic treatment in the hospital.
Dr. Kuokholie Savino, resident medical officer at IAH, spoke on “Identification of a medicinal plant and its medicinal properties” and imparted the participants on the importance of locally available indigenous herbs/ plants in the state and its health benefits.
The programme was chaired by Lezonuo Metha, assistant matron at IAH, while Pukrosul Kiso, pastor of Sakhabama Baptist Church, said the invocation prayer and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Elvis Kithan, MO of Naturopathy at IAH.
