Kohima, Nov. 27 (EMN):
The School Education department on Friday announced that winter vacation for this year has been cancelled for all schools in Nagaland functioning under the department.

The department issued an order on Friday informing that the notification it had issued on December 9, 2019 —containing announcement of winter vacation — stands cancelled.

It informed that schools should remain closed on account of Christmas and New Year holidays from December 23, 2020 to January 3, 2021; and should resume functioning from January 4, 2021.

School heads, teachers and other staff have been directed to remain in their respective places of posting from January 4, 2021 and continue with the activities related to the ‘online/offline continuous learning programme’ for all classes and other training programmes to be launched by the department, stated the notification.

However, it informed that separate notification will be issued with regards to the re-opening of schools for the academic session 2021. It stated that schools should not ask students to come for regular classes for 2021 academic session.

The department also informed that remedial classes for Classes 10, 11 and 12 should continue, which will be notified by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).
