Nagaland: NIEPID organises psychological assessment camp

Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan) (NIEPID), Secunderabad, organised a Teaching Learning Material (TLM) and psychological assessment camp for children with intellectual disabilities at District Disability Rehabilitation Centre, Dimapur.

The camp was conducted in collaboration with the office of State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Nagaland DDRC and Community Mental Health Programme (CMHP), Prodigals’ Home, a press release informed.

The assessment team, assisted by Dr. Imli (PMR Doctor and Senior Specialist, DDDRC) and team of CMHP, Prodigals’ Home, facilitated TLM assessment for 52 children with intellectual disability and psychological assessment for 27 children.

The TLM and psychological assessment team from NIEPID comprised Dr. Ravi Prakash, officer-in-charge NIEPID RC, Navi Mumbai, Dr. Neeral Mishra, lecturer, occupational therapy, CRC Devangere and Keerti Sudha Rajput, rehabilitation psychologist.

It may be mentioned that the Assessment camp by NIEPID is a continuation of similar and various related activities in Northeast India. NIEPID has a series of awareness, training and assessment camps lined up for caregivers, students, teachers and others in Dimapur, Peren and Kohima.
