Illegal drugs IMFL destroyed

Mon:Illegal drugs and assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquid (IMFL) which were seized in different places were destroyed at Mon on February 28.The seized articles consisted of 363 bottles of MC Rum, 294 bottles of MC Whiskey, 36 bottles of Beer, 357 SP Capsules, 19 Nitrogen. The assorted IMFL and illegal drugs were destroyed in the presence of N Kano Addl. District and Session Judge, Nukutolu Extra Asst. Commissioner (EAC), Aben Prosecuting Inspector (PI), KNSK office bearers and the police.

AR renders community services

Dimapur: With an endeavor to eradicate the scarcity faced by far flung villagers, 18 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 6 Sector IGAR (North) has installed a water pump set at Nzao village under Assam Rifles Civic Action programme.

The village council of Nzao has thanked the Assam Rifles for donating the water pump set stating that was a boon for the villagers thereby fulfilling their long standing basic requirement of drinking water.
In another function on February 27, IGAR (N) has handed over computers and accessories to the GB of Njauna village under ‘Op Samaritan’ programme which was organized by 18 Assam Rifles. The villagers expressed their gratitude towards generosity shown by the Assam Rifles towards bringing in the means of futuristic education to the remote and backward children of Njauna village.
In yet another such programme, Maj Gen MM Naravane, IGAR (N) visited Tabitha Enabling Academy, Kohima, and handed over 10 wheel chairs, 2 computers with printers to the Institute which manages 30 special children out of which10 are bed ridden. Assistance provided under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme was organized by 19 Assam Rifles under 5 Sect AR.
Ms Asanuo Seb has thanked the Assam Rifles for their gesture which she said would go a long way in assisting the children to be self reliant and become better citizens.

Naiba Konyak inaugurates Eyeang village

Dimapur: Advisor for Department for Under Developed Area (DUDA), Naiba Konyak, has inaugurated a newly recognized Eyeang village under Tobu sub-division in Mon district on February 28 as chief guest by unveiling the monolith and ADC Tobu, Akhup Thangsing, as guest of honour.

The chief guest, in his inaugural speech, has thanked the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, for his contribution to the people of Tobu area. He opined that without the support and concern of the government and public, the inauguration would not be completed.
The guest of honour stated that new village should always render cooperation within the village and also maintain good relation with parent body, administration and other neighboring villages. He has credited the Advisor for DUDA, Naiba Konyak for every successful work under 55 Tobu assembly constituency.
Short speeches were also delivered by president NPF 55 A/C Tobu, Nangba Konyak, President Konyak Union Branch Tobu, ST Poangba Konyak, and PS to Advisor DUDA, Nyanlau Konyak. The chief guest was accompanied by SDO (C) Monyakshu, Mono; BDO Tobu, Moba Konyak; government officials and other dignitaries from Noklak, Old Pangsha, New Pangsha, Taknyu and DAN.

Burma bazaar committee discusses road condition

Dimapur: Burma Camp Area Bazaar Committee which was formed on September 21, 2013 comprising seven neighboring colony viz. (1) Veterinary Colony, (2) United north block A, (3) United North Block B, (4) Sunrise Colony, (5) Namgalong Rongmei Colony, (6) Niu Colony (7) Naga Colony had general meeting on March 2 at the residence of its chairman Tokiye Kibami at Veterinary Colony.

The members present at the meeting had deliberately discussed pertaining to the deplorable road condition and to uphold the social harmony and the peaceful atmosphere the colony. The committee members appeal to the concerned authority to look into the matter regarding the maintenance of the road stretch from Burma camp police point to till the Assam border, a press release stated.
During the meeting Makuran has been appointed as secretary information and publicity.

NMA welcomes medical college in state

Dimapur: Naga Mothers Association (NMA) has expressed gratitude to the Government of India; chief minister Neiphiu Rio, health minister Imkong L Imchen, Commissioner & Secretary, and all ranks and files of the medical and health services in Nagaland and to the citizens of Kohima Village Council for putting all the efforts in bringing the Nagaland Medical College, Kohima, along with a Tertiary Cancer Care, which was a very long felt need of the State.

NMA has also acknowledged the efforts of the Governor, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, and the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, for their concerted efforts and the tremendous role they played in bringing the dream of the people into reality. It has prayed to the Almighty God to grant them wisdom and good health to lead the people to a greater height in the days to come.
NMA press release jointly issued by its president, Abei-u Meru, and the joint secretary, Malsawmthangi Leyri, expressed confidence that the people of Nagaland would soon be blessed with a functional medical college.
It has further urged all concerned to give their best for successful completion of the college at the earliest.
