Pungro school holds poster contest
A poster-making competition on heat wave safety was conducted at Government Higher Secondary School, Pungro, Kiphire district, on July 6 to spread awareness about heat waves and their adverse effects on health. According to a DIPR report, participants were divided into small groups and provided with chart papers and art supplies, where they translated safety protocols into visual formats. Teachers encouraged them with guidance and feedback. The competition was judged on how well the groups illustrated core heat wave safety themes through visual representation. Key parameters included dehydration, sun protection, peak-hour safety (11 am to 4 pm), and recognising heat stroke symptoms. The winners of the poster-making competition will be announced after the summer break.
