Unidentified dead body recovered
DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police recovered an unidentified female body of a non-Naga, aged around 55–60 years, from Shukhovi Railway Station on August 5. According to a police report, the deceased was suspected to have been run over by a train. The report stated that the body was taken to District Hospital Dimapur’s morgue for a postmortem examination after the completion of all legal formalities. The deceased was wearing a red maxi (frock) and a blue petticoat, with a dark brown complexion. Relatives and friends of the deceased are requested to contact the officer-in-charge of GRPS, Dimapur, on mobile no. 7085055021 for further information.
RALOA meets union minister
DIMAPUR — A team comprising former ministers and MLAs representing the Railway Affected Landowners' Association (RALOA) called on the union railway minister on August 5 and apprised him of the factual position pertaining to the land dispute under Dimapur Railway Station. An update from RALOA stated that the team would be campaigning for a few more days to meet all the concerned officials in this connection. The association has expressed gratitude to Benjamin Yepthomi, president of BJP Nagaland, for his tireless effort in making the mission fruitful.

NWVA to meet on August 12
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Women Voluntary Association (NWVA) has convened a meeting on August 12 at the State Banquet Hall in Kohima at 3:30 pm. The association president has requested all its members to attend the meeting.
Phek consumers decry poor telecom service
DIMAPUR — The consumers of Phek District have raised concerns about poor telecom service in the district. According to an update from the Phek District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PDCCI), while the general public, business communities, and students depend on the internet for every task, nowadays nothing is possible without the internet. It claimed that there has been no sign of network improvement since July, and network fluctuations and call drop problems remain a serious issue. Expressing its concern to the service provider, the PDCCI appealed to the concerned authorities to deliver proper network service at the earliest.
Illegal exhausts, LEDs dismantled in Kohima
DIMAPUR — In response to the rising number of illegal modifications of car and bike exhausts causing noise pollution in and around Phezoucha, New Secretariat Road, Kohima, the Phezoucha Youth Organisations, together with the North Traffic Police, conducted routine checks on August 5 between 7 pm and 9 pm. They cracked down on several illegal exhaust and LED light modifications and dismantled them on the spot. According to an update, this action was taken to curb such nuisances and to ensure a safe and peaceful environment.

DC Phek visits key district offices
DIMAPUR — Phek District Administration, led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rhosietho Nguori, visited the District Welfare Office, District Program Officer (Integrated Child Development Services), Child Development Project Office (CDPO), One Stop Centre, and District Planning Office in Phek and conducted coordination meetings with the officers and staff of all five offices individually on August 5. According to a DIPR report, the meetings were chaired and conducted by the deputy commissioner.
DPDB Phek meet on August 8
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, has informed that the Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting will be held at the DC conference hall, Phek, at 11 am on August 8. According to a DIPR report, all the members have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.
Mass social work on August 8 in Chümoukedima
DIMAPUR — In view of the forthcoming 79th Independence Day celebration, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, has issued an order directing all concerned departments under Chümoukedima district to participate in a mass social work scheduled to be held on August 8 from 9 am onwards at the Deputy Commissioner’s Complex/Sammogooting Stadium, Chümoukedima. The order, issued by DC Chümoukedima, Polan John, has emphasised full participation of the departmental staff. All heads of offices have been instructed to ensure strict compliance and mobilisation of their teams for the mass cleanliness drive.
DC Kohima directs mandatory attendance for I-Day
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has informed all heads of offices posted at Kohima Hq. and GBs under Kohima Sadar (urban and rural) to compulsorily attend the 79th Independence Day celebration on August 15 at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima. Also, according to a DIPR report, the DC has informed all heads of departments (HoDs) to collect the invitation cards and car passes for the day. As per the notification, the items will be available for collection from the Establishment Branch, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, starting from August 13 during office hours. All concerned departments have been requested to make necessary arrangements and ensure timely collection.
