Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): The department of School Education, in continuation of its efforts of mainstreaming ‘Out of school children’ (OoSC), appealed to members of NGO, municipal/ town/ village councils, churches, student unions and the public to register details of out of school children in the age group of 6-16 years (children who are not enrolled in any school or dropped out at any stage before completing secondary education) at the Google form link provided at the DoSE online education services portal https://dosenl.in to enable the department device mechanism for arranging special training and mainstreaming the OoSC in an appropriate classes at neighbouring government schools/ national open school. This stated in a press release issued by the School Education principal director, Thavaseelan K.
SCC organises seminar on tribal museum
Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and History department of Sao Chang College in Tuensang have jointly organised a seminar on tribal museum on the theme “Living traditions.” An update from the college stated that Dr. Iris Odyuo, associate professor and former head of History department, shared her experience while visiting Naga artefact museum in Berlin, Germany. Khumong Khiamniungan, an expert local artisan and resource person, gave a brief talk on the vanishing traditional crafts and also displayed the making of ‘Eing kaha,’ a conical ceremonial hat of the Khiamniungan Nagas.
Officers told to leave good legacy
Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): Advisor of Art and Culture, Treasuries and Accounts, K Konngam Konyak, has urged the officers to leave good legacy behind through their good deeds. He stated this during an introductory meeting with senior officers of Art and Culture department held at its directorate in Kohima on April 14. While admitting that the department might not have many activities as other big departments, he urged the officers to work hard with sincerity and dedication. “Whether we fail or succeed, let’s all try and give our best in whatever we undertake,” he said. He further urged the officers to gladly accept their transfer since it is their duty to serve the people anywhere. The commissioner and secretary, Athel O Lotha, and the director, Adela Moa, spoke on the occasion.
Advisor inaugurates approach road
Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, Keoshu Yimkhiung, inaugurated Y Thsankiu Road, an approach road constructed under the patronage of Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) in honour of its former president, Y Thsankiu. Speaking at the inaugural programme, the advisor advised the people to not only depend on government for development but to work hard independently so that the government might help in all possible ways for better development. He lauded the YTC and village leaders for showing a good example as the construction was done through public contribution. The deputy commissioner of Shamator, Thuvisie Phoji, has appreciated YTC and civil society organisations for implementing the project without depending on government. YTC president informed that the approach road measuring 3 km was constructed through public contribution.
DSC elects new team
Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): The Dimapur Sumi Council (DSC) has elected a new team of office bearers, judicial board and advisors for the tenure 2023-2028. The council has Shikuto Yeptho as president, Hokuto Zhimo as vice president (admn) and Nikhevi Yeptho as vice president (development), N Inato Swu as general secretary, Kavito Aye and Hukato Kiba as joint secretaries, Daniel Swu as finance secretary, Vikehto Chisho as assistant finance secretary, V Tokuto Zhimomi as information and publicity secretary, Jonah Achumi as press secretary, Hebovi Zhimo as sports secretary (men) along with Hoshika Awomo as assistant sports secretary, Yekali Kiba as sports secretary (women), Mughaho Achumi as cultural secretary (men) and Hutoni Chishi as cultural secretary (women), Yenito Swu as property in-charge and Lovito Zhimo as property secretary. It has also elected judiciary board led by Hozka K Awomi as convenor and Kikhevi Yeptha as co-convenor, Dolovi Kiba as judiciary secretary along with Ghokiho Yeptho and Vivito Yeptho as members. Further, it has elected Kuhoi Zhimo, Vikato Zhimo, and Hoyivi Awomi as advisors.
