Nagaland Zoological Park offers free entry
DIMAPUR — To commemorate World Environment Day 2024, Dr. C Zupeni Tsanglai, Director of Nagaland Zoological Park, announced that the zoo will offer free admission to visitors on June 5th. The public is encouraged to experience and observe nature and the environment, while learning about ways individuals can contribute to the protection, preservation, and restoration efforts.
Dimapur DPDB meeting on June 6
DIMAPUR — Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), has notified that the DPDB meeting for Dimapur district is scheduled for June 6 (Thursday) at 11 am in the DC conference hall, Dimapur. All members have been requested to attend.
Counting observers brief microobservers
DIMAPUR — Counting observers for the general election to the Lok Sabha 2024 for the 1 Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency briefed the microobservers on their roles and responsibilities at council hall, Mon town, on Monday. According to an update, the observers were Madhavi Sardeshmukh, MSN Babu, and Sowmya N Gowda. They urged the microobservers to be responsible and avoid mistakes, emphasising that the microobservers act as the eyes and hands of the observers on counting day.
Coordination meeting for counting day held in Mon
DIMAPUR — In view of the counting process for the general election to the Lok Sabha 2024, scheduled for June 4, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, held a coordination meeting on June 1 to review the counting preparations. The meeting, held in the DC office chamber in Mon, was attended by the superintendent of police, assistant returning officers (AROs) for constituencies 41–48 and 55, administrative officers, nodal officers, and other concerned parties, according to a DIPR report.
Counting observers appointed for Phek district
DIMAPUR — Additional Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Phek, Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, has informed that the Election Commission of India has deployed the following counting observers for Phek district on the counting day: Nandu Chaitram Bedse, observer code S-26772, contact number 758834525, for the 16-Pfutsero and 17-Chizami assembly constituencies (ACs), and M Gopperundevi, observer code S-35926, contact number 9840386128, for the 18-Chozuba, 19-Phek, and 20-Meluri ACs.
ADC Peren issues travel advisory
DIMAPUR — Additional Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Japheth Woch, has informed the public that National Highway-129A, currently under construction and connecting Peren town and Jalukie town, has been blocked due to a landslide near Old Jalukie village on June 2. Commuters have been advised to take the road diversion through the Old Peren-Jalukie road from Peren town to Upper Jalukie and vice versa, according to a DIPR report.
Presiding officers instructed to stay at Kiphire HQ
DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner and DEO Kiphire has notified all presiding officers to be stationed in the district headquarters on the counting day in case of seeking clearance or any discrepancies arise during the counting process at the assigned polling station.
