Nagaland to mark 16th National Voters Day
DIMAPUR — The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, has informed that the 16th National Voters’ Day will be celebrated on January 25 at Japfu Hotel, Kohima from 1 pm onwards. According to a DIPR report, all print and electronic media houses have been requested to send at least two representatives each to cover the event. Media participation will help showcase the celebrations and promote voter awareness across the state, it stated.
MLA Longon inaugurates helipad at Noklak
DIMAPUR — Member of Legislative Assembly and Chairman of District Planning & Development Board, Noklak, P Longon inaugurated the newly-constructed helipad and facilities under Iconic Project 2024-25 at Noklak on Monday. According to a DIPR report, the facilities include rest room, approach road, toilets (male & female), fencing with gate, water supply and electrification. The MLA was accompanied by DC Noklak, SP Noklak, senior officials and other public leaders of the district.

Longleng launches National Road Safety Month
DIMAPUR — Longleng district launched the National Road Safety Month on the theme ‘Let the new year begin with safety, kindness and responsible living,’ with Deputy Commissioner W Manpai Phom chairing the programme at DPDB hall, Longleng, on Monday. The DC informed the gathering that a special camp will be held in February in coordination with RTO Mokokchung. He requested participants to spread the word and launched a road safety booklet, also distributing helmets to Longleng bikers, a DIPR report stated. The enforcement team led by Road Safety Enforcement Inspector (RSEI), RTO office Mokokchung, Temsulong, briefly highlighted the gathering on road safety. He also distributed a booklet on road safety to all the participants.
RALOA general meeting on January 24
DIMAPUR — The Railway Affected Landowners’ Association (RALOA) has convened a general meeting on January 24 at Hotel Saramati at 2 pm, to discuss issue threadbare ahead of the association’s meeting with the high-powered committee (HPC). DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (Unification), under the leadership of president MB Neokpao Konyak and ato kilonser Alezo Venuh, has terminated kilonser Hokishe Zhimomi from ‘active national service’ and the GPRN/NSCN (U), with immediate effect. In a termination order (azha) on Monday, the NSCN stated that Hokishe Zhimomi acted in clear contravention of the “oath of allegiance sworn before the government,” and that his conduct constituted a grave violation of party discipline and “seriously undermined the integrity, discipline, and collective trust of the government.” “His primary membership in the NSCN is hereby ceased and rendered null with immediate effect, without entitlement to any rights, privileges, or representations thereof,” the order added.
