WCH mourns lives lost in road accident
DIMAPUR — The Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of five women belonging to the Chümoukedima Ao Baptist Church (CABA), who lost their lives in a road accident on January 31, at 10th Mile Road, Kohima. In a condolence message, the WCH stated that the tragedy has cast a pall of grief over the families, CABA, and the wider Naga community. “In these difficult and hard times, the Western Chakhesang Hoho extends its heartfelt condolences to the grieving family members, the Chümoukedima Ao Baptist Church (CABA), church leaders, Ao civil society organisations, and all members of the Ao community. “Words fall short in the face of such an irreplaceable loss, particularly of women who were pillars of faith, service, and strength within the church and society,” the message read.
Rabies vaccination drive held in Tseminyu
The Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer, Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Tseminyu, conducted a free anti-rabies vaccination campaign at Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) office premises, Tseminyu, on Monday, with the objective of preventing rabies and safeguarding public health. The campaign was organised under ASCAD 2024-25, implemented during 2025-2026, a DIPR report stated. During the campaign, a total of 145 dogs were vaccinated free of cost. The free anti-rabies vaccination campaign was conducted by Dr. Gwathonlo Tsela, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon and his team.
EDTC notifies on advertisement matters
The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has informed all organisations, government departments, private agencies, and individuals that advertisement matters fall under its authority. In a press release, EDTC Executive Officer Zakabo V Rotokha reminded that all permissions, regulations, and enforcement related to advertisements (hoardings, banners, posters, etc.) will be governed by EDTC as per the Municipal Act, 2023. The executive officer also stated that concerned individuals, organisations, or government departments can visit the EDTC office during office hours for clarification and guidance on advertisement rules and regulations. The EDTC appealed for cooperation from stakeholders to ensure proper regulation and management of advertisements within the town as per the law.
Pughoboto SDPDB meeting on February 6
Extra Assistant Commissioner of Pughoboto, Yithachu Thur, has informed that the monthly Sub Divisional Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) meeting has been scheduled at the conference hall, Pughoboto, ADC Office (New Administrative Complex) on February 6 at 11 am. All concerned members have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting positively.
Pranab Vidyapith HSS honours top students
Pranab Vidyapith Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur, celebrated the achievements of its students at the annual prize-giving ceremony-2025 on Monday. The event honoured academic and sports achievements, cent percent attendance (both students and teachers), and co-curricular excellence, recognising the hard work and dedication of students, the school stated in an update. Guest of honour and the school’s Principal Monoj Bhattacharjee, exhorted the students to strive for excellence. The event showcased various cultural performances and special items performed by the students. This was followed by the distribution of awards to the outstanding students.
