DMC notifies traders
Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed all the business establishments within its jurisdiction to renew their respective trade license for the year 2023-24 on or before March 31 in order to avoid late fine charges. It also informed all the defaulters of trade license with effect from 2006 that the year-wise list has been prepared and put up on its notice board. DMC administrator, W Manpai Phom, has directed all the listed defaulters to renew their trade license on or before March 31. He cautioned that failing to comply with the directives would led to cancellation trade license without further notice and no claims would be entertained thereafter. This was necessitated in view of introduction of digitisation of trade license system under DMC with effect from the new financial year.
Power dept. notifies consumers of Wokha town
Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Power department under Wokha electrical sub-division has informed the general public of Wokha town that in continuation to the disconnection notice served to the defaulting consumers falling under Wokha electrical sub-division, the department would be initiating disconnection drive for non-payment of electricity bills, illegal hooking, looping and unauthorised use of heater coils with effect from March 13. The department, in an update, requested the consumers to cooperate and pay their electricity bills so as to avoid disconnection.
Sumi Hoho condemns March 6 incident
Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Sümi Hoho (SH) has condemned an incident in which some miscreants attempted to barge into the residence of Tokheho Yepthomi, Lok Sabha MP, at Naharbari and fired on the night of March 6 at around 11 pm. The hoho stated that such instances of life attempts and gun culture are unwelcomed and should be completely eradicated from the society. The hoho urged upon the law enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned to identify and apprehend the culprits. It further cautioned any individual or group not to use the name of the tribe in the social media that tarnishes the image unless the tribal apex bodies decide so in the larger interest of the tribe.
AR donates computers to Chilliso village
Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Shamator battalion of the Assam Rifles distributed computers along with printers and solar lights to Chilliso village council under Noklak district on March 9. A DIPR report stated that the initiative of the Assam Rifles was appreciated by the local populace as it would pave way for the digitisation of documents for the Chilliso Students’ Union, village council and Chilliso women council and also help in imparting the basics of computers to the students in the village.
Students of Sazolie College undertake trip to Dzuleke
Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Photography Club of Sazolie College undertook a trip to Dzuleke on March 8 on the theme “Celebrating timeless pieces in fashion.” An update from the college informed that 14 students and two teachers have participated in the trip. Photographer Likao Kinghen of VI semester and founder of the club, highlighted some points and gave demonstrations on how to use natural light and reflectors. In relation to the theme, it stated that timeless styles such as street style, denim on denim, punk rock, K-drama inspired outfits were some of the looks for the photo shoot.
