Dimapur Police to remove street vendors
Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): In the interest and safety of the public and for the smooth flow of vehicular traffic, Dimapur Police has informed that any street hawker/ vendors found to be illegally occupying the public footpath and roadside vehicle parking areas along Nyamo Lotha Road, New Market, Circular Road and Clock Tower area would be remove. The Dimapur commissioner of police, Kevithuto Sophie cautioned that such obstruction and defaulters would be liable for punitive action under relevant provision with immediate effect.

Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): Following notification of the Assam government to impose temporary ban on transportation of live pigs through the state of Assam, there would be shortage due to non-arrival of live-pigs. In this regard, the Pork Butchers’ Union informed that the shortage could result in price escalation and leave negative impact on the butchers. As live-pigs are not coming from Assam but imported from other states and pass through Assam, the union felt that there was no point in imposing ban on free passage of live and healthy pigs to Nagaland.
NBSE informs new head of institutions
Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has convened a meeting of new head of institutions appointed during the period 2022-2023 on April 28 in Kohima at 10 am. The meeting has been convened to discuss on the expected role and responsibilities of the head of institutions as well as the rules and regulations of the Board. All the new head of institutions appointed during the period 2022-2023 are requested to confirm their participation on or before April 21 by filling up the google form which could be obtained at https://forms.gle/sTfi7oCNYNdfsZAt8. It further informed that the meeting venue would be shared later in the districts whatsApp groups.
Khuzama fire station observes fire service week
Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): Khuzama fire station observed the National Fire Service Week on Friday at Sacred Heart High School on the theme ‘Awareness in fire safety for growth of national infrastructure.’ During the programme, the officer in-charge of Fire Service, Khuzama, Maisunsilakbo, appealed to the gathering to take note of the demonstration shown in fire safety measures, LPG care maintenance and safety, rescue technique bandages and use operation of fire extinguishers. He advised the public not to panic during fire incidents but to immediately inform the fire station.
NSCN (Niki) terminates two cadres
Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): Niki Sumi-led NSCN/GPRN has terminated its under secretaries namely Chenithung Ezung and Jimmy Lotha from active national service on the ground of involving in anti-national and anti-social activities. An order issued by to office of secretary, NSCN/GPRN dated 14/04/2023, stated that the actions of the two officials are accountable for immediate termination as per the Ahza of the government. It informed that any individual, organisations, societies, unions or business associations dealing with them would be doing so at their own risks and added that the government would not be held responsible for any activities that they might undertake on behalf of the government.

NNC/FGN convenes meeting
Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): Naga National Council (NNC) and Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will hold its monthly authority meeting on April 24 at Transit Peace Camp (TPC) in Kohima at 10 am. The FGN’s statement through its ministry of Rali Wali has requested all the eligible authorities including tatars and CEC members of the NNC/FGN to attend the meeting with essential agendas.
KODH to celebrate 50th anniversary
Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): The Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home (KODH), which is located on Kohima-Dimapur road, will celebrate 50 years of existence within its premises on April 16. An update from KODH informed that the advisor to Chief Minister and chairman of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha, will attend the occasion as the special guest. KODH president, Neibanuo Z Angami, has requested all the well-wishers and former children who grew under the care of the Home to join the incumbent children in the celebration.
NSCN (IM) condoles demise of tatar
Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): NSCN (IM) has condoled the demise of its tatar Ihezhe Kinny under Sumi region, who passed away on April 13 after a prolonged illness. An NSCN (IM)’s statement through its MIP stated that Ihezhe Kinny joined national service in the year 2017 and served the nation with determination and commitment till the last breath. While lamenting the loss, it stated that his contribution for the cause of Naga nation would be remembered and cherished for all times to come. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
