Free entry to Nagaland Zoological Park for students

DIMAPUR — To mark Wildlife Week 2024, Director of Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar, Dr. C Zupeni Tsanglai, announced that the zoo will offer free entry to students from October 2 to October 8 upon presenting a valid school or college ID card. Visitors have been encouraged to come and witness nature and the environment and to learn how individuals can create an impact in protecting, preserving, and restoring wildlife.

KPC mours demise of member’s mother

DIMAPUR — The Kohima Press Club (KPC) mourned the passing of Zanboni Yanthan, mother of KPC’s associate member, Jonas Yanthan, who died on the morning of September 30 at Lakhuti village. In a condolence message, the club noted that Yanthan was 96 years old. It stated, “We convey our deepest condolences and pray that God will grant strength and comfort to the bereaved family during this difficult time of grief. May the departed soul rest in peace.”

CAN holds Lay Leaders and Catechists Conclave

DIMAPUR — The Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) organised its Lay Leaders and Catechists Conclave 2024 from September 27 to the 30th at Mt. Tabor Retreat House in Kohima. According to an update, the conclave was attended by 136 Catholic leaders from across Nagaland, including 76 catechists.

IAH undertakes free medical camp in Kidima

DIMAPUR — The Integrated Ayush Hospital (IAH), Razha, Chedema, under Kohima district, organised a free medical camp in Kidima village on Monday. Different departments, including ENT, attended and served the villagers of all age groups, who turned up in large numbers, an update stated. Physicians also visited patients’ homes who couldn’t attend. The medical camp was arranged through mutual contact between the health service authority and Rev. Fr. Alex Vizo, parish priest of Kidima. The Kidima Village Council and Kidima Students’ Union also extended support and assistance.

Arogya Shivir Health Mela held in Tuensang

DIMAPUR — An Ayushman Arogya Shivir Health Mela was conducted at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Tuensang and the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chessore on Monday. According to an update, health services such as screening for hypertension, diabetes, and oral cancer were provided, along with free medicines for all patients. At PHC Chessore, the camp attended to 35 people, including three antenatal care (ANC) patients, while 58 beneficiaries availed themselves of medical services at UPHC Tuensang.

Free cooking, baking courses in Noklak

DIMAPUR — DC Noklak has informed that the district administration, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHED), will be organising free cooking and baking courses in Noklak. The cooking course, to be conducted from October 3 to the 5th, will have a maximum intake of 20 persons, while the baking course, from October 10 to the 12th, will have a maximum intake of 15 persons, a DIPR report stated. Interested candidates can send their details, including name, address and contact number, to 9863164705 via WhatsApp by the latest by October 1.

Poshan Maah programme concludes in Longleng

DIMAPUR — The Department of Social Welfare Longleng held the closing programme of Poshan Maah 2024 at the CDPO office premises on Monday, with Deputy Commissioner W Manpai Phom as the special guest. In his address, the DC said that mothers and children are the backbone of society and therefore ensuring their sound health is very crucial, according to a DIPR report. Phom also encouraged the Anganwadi workers and helpers to be sincere and dedicated in their services, besides the Poshan Maah activities.

School of Nursing NHAK platinum jubilee on October 8

DIMAPUR — The School of Nursing, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) will be celebrating its platinum jubilee on October 8 from 11 am onwards at Molu Ki, Merhulietsa colony (Para Medical), Kohima. As a part of the “momentous occasion,” the school has extended an invitation to all the alumni, former teaching faculties and well-wishers to attend the celebration, an update stated.
