CNWA urges to implement RIIN
Dimapur, Nov. 26 (EMN): Central Nagaland Women Association (CNWA) has urged the state government to implement Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) at the earliest. CNWA made this appeal following completion of its 3rd phase tour to Wokha district recently. A CNWA press release stated that it has discussed various pending important issues with the constituent units of Kohima town; Lotha Eloe Hoho, Wokha; Lotha Yingsung Olongo Eloe Ekhung, Sanis; Bhandari Town Lotha Eloe Hoho; and Ralan Range Lotha Eloe Hoho. CNWA has expressed concern on many unresolved issues that primarily impact women. CNWA has also drawn the attention of the government to the suffering of the people in Ralan area on daily basis due to border issue. CNWA further resolved to stand with the CNTC to implement pocket-wise reservation to uplift the rightfully affected groups.
NSCN (Akato) greets Rengma Nagas
Dimapur, Nov. 26 (EMN): Akato Chophi-led NSCN/GPRN has greeted the Rengma community of the occasion of ‘Ngada,’ a post harvest festival of the Rengma Nagas, which is celebrated as a sign of thanksgiving and also marks the end of the agricultural year. It stated that the village high priest called ‘Phensengu’ heralds the beginning of the festival, which is observed with feasting, singing, dancing and other cultural activities. It further wished that the spirit of Ngada festival would bring all the good things in life including prosperity, wealth, health and happiness.
SAPO condemns murders
Dimapur, Nov. 26 (EMN): Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) along with all its frontal organisations has condemned the murder of Constable Kevisekho Khate of 10th IRB and Lance Naik T Zewangha Yim of NAP Rangers by one Zenise Yoshü while on duty at Lamhainamdi village in Peren district. SAPO has termed the incident ‘heinous act of crime’ that deserved condemnation from all sections of the society. SAPO expressed confidence that the criminal justice system would pronounce speedy trial and award befitting punishment as per the law of the land to the culprit. While conveying condolences to the bereaved families, SAPO called upon the state government to provide job to the affected families on compassionate ground.
Kohima DPDB day-out-cum advent Christmas
Dimapur, Nov. 26 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB, Kohima, informed that the DPDB day-out-cum-Advent Christmas would be held on November 29 at 11 am at the youth recreational hall in Pfuchama. According to an official bulletin, the DC has requested all the members to attend the programme positively.
PMFME workshop held in Niuland
Dimapur, Nov. 26 (EMN): A one-day workshop on Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME) was held on November 24 at District Industries Centre, Niuland. An official bulletin informed that the workshop was moderated by Kheto, while the keynote address was delivered by Itsato Zhimomi, functional manager, who urged the entrepreneurs and participants to avail the scheme. District resources person (DRP), Imliakum, gave a detailed presentation on PMFME scheme and the inspector of Industries, Vikki Kiba, highlighted on the role of DIC in implementing the scheme. It stated that a total of 55 participants attended the workshop.
