Body found near Railway colony
DIMAPUR — An unidentified male, estimated to be around 45 years of age, was found dead near the Railway Colony, close to Shiv Mandir in Dimapur on Thursday morning. According to an update from Dimapur Police, information about the body was received at around 9:10 am. Upon receiving the report, the duty officer along with a police team rushed to the spot, located approximately 3 km from the police station. The deceased was found lying on the roadside in a supine position (facing upwards). Police stated that the cause of death is suspected to be natural. After completing all necessary legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The deceased was wearing a black T-shirt and blue half-pants. Police appealed to any claimant, relatives, or friends of the deceased to contact the officer-in-Charge of Sub-Urban Police Station, Dimapur, at 7085055026.
NLA CECC meeting on April 20
MLA Achumbemo Kikon, chairperson of Committee on Environment and Climate Change (CECC), Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), has convened the introductory meeting of the committee on April 20 at 11:30 am at K Shikhu conference hall, NLA Secretariat. In a press release, the NLA Secretariat requested all the members of the committee to make it convenient to attend the meeting.
NSCN (Niki) discharges SO
The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has discharged Omekali Achumi, sectional officer (SO), with effect from April 13. In a discharge order date April 13, the NSCN/GPRN acknowledged the service rendered by Omekali for the cause of the Naga political struggle which, the organisation stated, “shall ever be recognised and recorded in the course of the Naga history.”
NLA CGA meeting on April 23
MLA Y Lima Onen Chang, chairperson of the Committee on Government Assurances (CGA) has fixed the committee's introductory meeting for the year 2026-2027 on April 23 at 11:30 am at C Chongshen committee room of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Secretariat. In a press release, the NLA Secretariat requested all members of the committee to attend the meeting positively.
