Arms shops to reopen in Kohima

DIMAPUR — With the completion of the election process and the Model Code of Conduct ceasing to be in operation, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, has permitted all arms and ammunition dealers, including air rifle shops under Kohima district, to reopen and continue their normal operation with immediate effect. The closure of all arms and ammunition dealers under Kohima district was ordered on April 8 due to the enforcement of the Election MCC, a DIPR report stated.

Meeting of Committee on Subordinate Legislation

DIMAPUR — Chairman of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Dr. Sukhato A Sema, MLA, has convened a meeting of the committee on July 12 at 11.30 am in the committee room of the Assembly Secretariat. All members have been requested to attend the meeting, the NLA Secretariat stated in a press release.

Tuensang DPRO team visits Yungphang village

DIMAPUR — A team from the District Public Relations Office (DPRO), Tuensang, led by District Public Relations Officer Meyisusu Jamir, visited Yungphang village in Tuensang district on July 7. Jamir gave a brief introduction to the activities of the department and the objective of the multi-mobile unit, a DIPR report stated. Jamir thanked the villagers, led by the village council, for their valuable efforts in making the meeting a successful one. During the visit, the team also screened documentary and awareness videos for the villagers.

Mega Art Festival held in Dimapur

DIMAPUR — Chitrakala School of Fine Arts and Rajive Art Centre, in collaboration with the Contemporary Foundation for Art and Craft, New Delhi, organised the 4th Mega Art Festival on July 7 at Pranab Vidyapith Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur. According to an update, chief guest Dr. Khushboo Agarwal distributed prizes to the winners and encouraged students to pursue their art seriously as a potential profession. Kamalendu Das, principal of Chitrakala School of Fine Arts, stated that over 500 students from Nagaland and Assam participated in the competition. He also mentioned that a total of 91 prizes were awarded in various categories.
