ABCC CEM CC appeals to organise common platform for candidates
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): Angami Baptist Church Council Clean Election Movement Core Committee (ABCC CEM CC) along with the Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC) and Angami Public Organisation (APO) have resolved to appeal to the leaders and elders of every village councils under the Angami region to organise common platforms for the intending candidates so as to discourage and refrain from house-to-house canvassing. The resolution to this effect was taken during a joint meeting held on February 1 at ABCC Mission Centre.
CEO to address media on Feb. 10
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), V Shashank Shekhar, will address a press conference on election-related matters on February 10 at 7 pm at the de Oriental Grand Hotel in Kohima. All media personnel from various media houses have been requested to attend the press conference, a DIPR report informed.
SCERT to issue revalidated N-TET certificates
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Nagaland, has informed all the Nagaland-Teacher Eligibility Test (N-TET) qualified candidates of 2013 and 2016, who have surrendered their N-TET certificate for re-validation. SCERT informed that it would issui the revalidated N-TET certificate (with lifetime validity) from February 14 to March 10 at SCERT office from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Candidates are required to bring their original admit card/HSLC admit card. It informed that an amount of INR 200 would be collected for the new certificate.
Kohima Police notifies arms license holders
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): In pursuance to the directives of the deputy commissioner and district election officer of Kohima, the Kohima Police has directed all the arm licensed holders to deposit their arms along with ammunition to the nearest police station on or before February 15. The order was issued to ensure peaceful, free and fair poll during the general election. It warned that failure to comply with the order would lead to cancellation of license.
Training for polling officers in Phek
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and district election officer of Phek, Kumar Ramnikant, informed that there will be a special training on February 10 at GHSS Phek for presiding officers and other polling officers, who were absent during the first phase training conducted on February 3. Informing that show cause notice has been served against all absentees, he cautioned that stringent action as per the provision under Section 134 of the Representation of the People Act 1951 would initiated against anyone, who fails to turn up for the meeting.
DC Kohima notifies political parties
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and district election officer of Kohima, Shanavas C, informed all political parties, candidates, and the public that general observer, Janak Prasad Pathak, for 8-Western Angami, 14-Southern Angami-I and 15-Southern Angami-II Assembly Constituencies could be contacted on phone no. 8787844624 for any election-related matters. He could also be visited for election-related queries between 11 am and 12 noon on any working day at Japfu Hotel, Kohima.
DC Dimapur notifies on final list of polling station
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and district election officer of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, informed that the final list of polling station for 1-Dimapur-I, 2-Dimapur-II, and 3-Dimapur-III Assembly Constituencies has been published and is available for inspection in his office during office hours.
DC Dimapur informs on postal ballot
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and district election office of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, informed that a facilitation centre would be set for the purpose of casting vote through postal ballot to all the election related officials for the upcoming general election. He has directed all the election related officials, who are desirous of casting their votes by means of postal ballot, to collect Form-12 from postal ballot cell in his office and submit the filled form latest by February 10. He has further directed all concerned to submit the filled form along with appointment order and photocopy of EPIC.
AG notifies retired govt. officers
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): The office of the Principal Accountant General (AG) has informed all retired state government officers that pension cases and GPF final payment cases has been settled for the month of January 2023 and uploaded on its office website. Pensioners are asked to log on to its office website www.cag.gov.in/ae/nagaland/en by clicking at GPF final payment settled cases and pension authorisation at home page. It also informed that a ‘Grievances redressal and feedback committee for entitlement functions” has been constituted. Aggrieved pensioners facing genuine problems with regard to settlement of any entitlement benefits are requested to write directly to Kahoto J Yepthomi, senior deputy accountant general via e-mail at yepthomikj@cag.gov.in or agaenagaland@cag.gov.in. They are also asked to contact the grievance redressal and feedback committee.
NSCN (Akato) greets Zeliangrong community
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): Akato Chophi-led NSCN/GPRN has greeted the Zeliangrong community on the occasion of 'Hega' festival, which is usually celebrated from February 10 to the 15th. An update from the NSCN/GPRN statement through its MIP stated that the festival is dedicated to the Almighty for protection, blessings and guidance. It further wished that the Almighty would continue to protect and shower his blessings and guidance to the Zeliangrong brothers and sisters.

Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and district election officer of Longleng, Dharam Raj, informed that the observers appointed by the ECI have arrived and are stationed at DUDA Rest House, Longleng. Any political party representative/election agent, who have queries/ complaints are asked to contact the observers in person or on their respective mobile numbers between 3 pm and 4 pm.
