NLA financial committees’ orientation
DIMAPUR — A one-day joint orientation programme for members of the financial committees, namely the Public Accounts Committee, Committee on Public Undertaking and Estimates Committee, has been fixed on June 5 at the K Shikhu conference hall, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Secretariat, Kohima. In a press release, the NLA Secretariat stated that the orientation programme is being organised to sensitise the legislators with the mandate, working system, powers and functions of the financial committees. Resource persons from the Office of the Accountant General, Nagaland, Finance Department, Government of Nagaland and PRIDE, Lok Sabha, will address the members during the programme. All members of the financial committees have been requested to make it convenient to attend the orientation programme.
Hoshepu farmers receive machinery
The Department of Land Resources, Zunheboto, distributed farm machinery under PMKSY -WDC 2.0 (Additional) at Hoshepu Village under Aghunato sub-division on Saturday. According to a DIPR report, the event was attended by EAC Aghunato Kathyinla as the special guest, who later handed over the farm machineries to the beneficiaries.
Mass social work held in Meluri
In view of the monsoon preparedness measures, a district-wide mass social work drive was conducted under Meluri district on Saturday. The initiative was carried out under the directive of the Deputy Commissioner, Meluri,a DIPR report stated. Administrative officers, heads of offices, urban local bodies, village authorities, youth organisations, student bodies, and local residents actively participated in the mass social work programme. The drive focused on cleaning drains and public spaces, clearing blocked culverts, and taking preventive measures to mitigate possible monsoon-related risks. Several areas witnessed enthusiastic community participation as volunteers worked together to improve sanitation and ensure proper water drainage ahead of the rainy season. Officials supervised the activities in their jurisdictions.
