Zunheboto administration bans sale of fish

The deputy commissioner of Zunheboto, Shanavas C has issued an order prohibiting the sale of fresh fish products including crustaceans and excluding live fish till further notice or until such time the availability of fresh fish in the district is certified as safe for human consumption by the food safety officer in accordance to the Food Safety Standards (Food Product standard & Food Addictive) Regulation of 2011 and provisions of Food Safety & Standard Act of 2006.

GSKS to observe birth anniv. of Aadi Acharya

The Gorkha Sahitya Kala Sanstha (GSKS) Kohima will be observing the 204th birth anniversary of Aadi Kabi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya on July 13 at the Gorkha Public Panchayat complex Chandmari in Kohima. A press release received from the union informed that to arts and poem recitation competition will be organised on July 8 at 11 am at Gyanmanjeree School, Upper Chandmari in Kohima. Interested students from class 1-12 contact have been asked to contact asst. general secretary, Bikash Lama at 9436070489; Maya Rana – 8014626082; Maya Thapa - 9436608230 and Sushila Limbu - 8794952408 latest by July 6.

Bengali students to honour achievers

Dimapur Bengali Students Union (DBSU) will be organising a felicitation programme for HSLC and HSSLC toppers cum freshers’ fair on July 1 at Durga Mandir auditorium, near Millennium market, Dimapur from 4:30 pm. The union president has requested all the top 20 rank holders from Dimapur district in the HSLC examination and top 10 rank holders in HSSLC examination (all the three streams) under NBSE to attend the programme. Rank holders are requested to confirm their presence 30 minutes before the programme.

Medical officer acknowledges support

Chief medical officer (CMO) cum FSSA designated officer, District Hospital, Dimapur, Dr. K Vikato Kinimi has thanked the district administration, police personnel, DMC officials, representatives from Dimapur Naga Council, chairmen’s union, GBs’ union Dimapur (Sadar), Chumukedima Town Council and various fish vendors for their support and cooperation during the inspection and testing on fishes in and around Dimapur and Chumukedima on June 28 by mobile food safety team from SPHL, Kohima. The officer has further looked forward to such support and cooperation even in the days to come.
