Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has assured Governor RN Ravi as well as the state government of all assistance and cooperation towards achieving peace through an honourable and acceptable political solution.

This assurance was delivered when an NDPP delegation led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on Ravi in Kohima on Tuesday, according to a press release from the party.

Rio was accompanied by NDPP president Chingwang Konyak; working presidents Alemtemshi Jamir and Nyiemnie Konyak; and secretary general Abu Metha.

The delegation also appreciated the governor’s concerns on improving governance and ensuring transparency, and assured him of support towards achieving the common endeavours.

“The NDPP highlighted the aspiration of the party to strive towards meritocracy and improve governance at all levels while promoting opportunities for the youth of Nagaland. The NDPP reiterated its stand of supporting and facilitating the Indo-Naga political dialogue and called for an early political solution to the decades old imbroglio.

“The delegation also discussed issues related to enhancing development and improving connectivity, especially air connectivity. The delegation wished the governor a successful tenure and assured him of all possible cooperation,” read the statement.
