Kohima, Dec. 10 (EMN): The vice president of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Prasielie Pienyü, inaugurated the office building of NDPP 8-Western Angami assembly constituency at New West Construction Store located in Para Medical Colony, Kohima, on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Pienyü affirmed that NDPP and BJP will continue with their alliance and contest the 2023 Nagaland elections on the seat sharing agreement. According to the agreement, NDPP will contest on 40 seats and BJP on 20 seats to continue running the government in the next term.

Pienyü stated that the ideology of NDPP is to continuously strive working towards the welfare of the Nagas and development of the state adding that they have done away with the VIP culture where the public will be their high command and part of the stakeholders.

He claimed that after NDPP came to power, many developmental activities including four-lane, two-lane and road improvement works both in towns and villages have been taking place under the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio.

“Rio is the champion for development,” he said and assured that they would gradually look after those works that were left over.

Pienyü reminded the party leaders and workers to cohesively support their MLAs so as to strengthen the hands of the chief minister. He also reminded party members to update themselves on the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) and the micro finance initiative, which were introduced to help the people.

Avio Tetso, NDPP president of Kohima region, expressed happiness on the inauguration of the office of the 8-Western Angami AC, which according to him, has been a cherished dream for them. He asked the party members to utilise the facility to the fullest and work hand-in-hand for NDPP and be prepared to face the coming elections. Testo also asked the BLOs to execute their responsibility with dedication in registering the electors to the electoral roll precisely within their respective jurisdiction.

In his greetings, Keneizhakho Nakhro, NDPP legislator from 8-Western Angami AC, termed the occasion as “momentous” and expressed hope that understanding and cooperation would be created among the party members with the inauguration of their office.

Silhulho Yalie, NDPP president of 8-Western Angami AC and Rovilhusie Miasalhou, NDPP working president of 8-Western Angami AC, also spoke on the occasion.
