Nagaland: More than 16k job seekers registered in 2021-22

Dimapur, July 19 (EMN): A total of 16,598 job seekers from Nagaland have registered on the National Career Service (NCS) portal during 2021-22, according to the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Among the Northeastern states, Nagaland is at the third lowest after Sikkim (4,781) and Mizoram (14,209), while Assam has the highest number of job seekers registered with 3,24,280, followed by Tripura (76,639), Arunachal Pradesh (48,598), Manipur (35,699), and Meghalaya (22,580).
This information was provided by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli through a written reply in Lok Sabha on July 18.
It further stated that during the year 2019-2020, Nagaland registered 2,586 job seekers while during 2020-21, only 469 jobseekers registered in the portal.
He updated that NCS project is being implemented by the government to provide a variety of employment related services like job search and matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, information on skill development courses etc. through a digital platform [www.ncs.gov.in].
He shared that the project aims to provide seamless access to jobseekers and employers, decent employment opportunities to the aspiring youth of the country and to facilitate career development assistance.
He updated that the project includes setting up of Model Career Centres (MCCs) in collaboration with states and UTs and other institutions to deliver employment related services like registration of job seekers, employers, providing career counselling or vocational guidance, conducting job fairs, outreach activities and others.
