Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): The total lockdown at Aboi sub-division in Mon district was lifted on August 18.
The deputy commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K, has however notified that the following guidelines would be enforced in the Aboi sub-division till further orders, a DIPR report stated.
The order stated that everyone should treat himself/ herself as an asymptomatic carrier of Covid-19 and take necessary safety precaution to break the chain of transmission. It asked the community members not to stigmatise the returnees released from the quarantine centres.
It is mandatory to wear face masks in public places, work place and during transport. It warned that a fine of INR 100 would be imposed for violation. Besides, public has been asked to maintain a maximum distance of six feet in public places, work places and also restricted spitting in public places.
The order also prohibited consumption of paan, gutka and other tobacco products, and advised persons above 65 years of age, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years to stay at home except for medical purposes. It added that large public gathering for social, religious, cultural and academic purposed would continue to remain prohibited and that not more than 20 people would be permitted in case of funerals. The ward/village task force has been asked to strictly enforce the provision.
The order also stated that hair-cutting salons, hotels and dine-in restaurants would continue to remain closed except for home delivery in case of eateries. It stated that vehicles from Assam carrying essential commodities for Aboi sub-division would be allowed on all days except Saturday and Sunday.
The order also prohibited intra-district movement of people and private vehicles except for medical emergency, official duty or Covid-19 related duty.
It stated that total lockdown would continue to remain enforced in the containment zones unless notified otherwise, adding that all activities within a containment zone would be strictly monitored by the ward, block-level or village task force for delivery of essential goods and services.
It warned that any person found violating these measures would be liable to be prosecuted as per the provisions under Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions as applicable.
