Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): The Mon district administration organised a felicitation programme for the medal winners of Mon district at the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022 at DRDA hall in Mon on August 30.
A DIPR report stated that Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, congratulated all the winners and the participants for representing the district and urged them to strive harder to achieve more.
Superintendent of Police, Mon, Imnalensa, thanked all the persons behind the scene who worked tirelessly to support the teams and athletes from the district. The SP also congratulated and wished all the medal winners and participants the best for their future. Team manager, Mon District, Chingmei Konyak, thanked all the stakeholders from the district who were responsible for sending a huge contingent to represent the district in the Games.
Speeches were also delivered by presidents of KU, KNSK and KSU. Mon district won five gold, four silver and seven bronze medals and stood at seventh place in the overall medal tally, it stated.
