Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): Modern College organised a national seminar on ‘Understanding India’s ethnic and cultural diversities: Northeast at a glance’ at the college conference hall on December 2 and 3. The seminar was sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).
An update from the college informed that the seminar was organised with an objective to bring scholars from different parts for dialogue on the cultural diversities, identify and understand the forms of diversity, cultural awareness, competence for national integration, debates on diverse customs, ideas and social behaviour of people from different part of India, and to revitalise the concept of unity in diversity through the cultural lens from different parts of India.
The keynote speaker on the first day was Dr. Lipokmar Dzuvichu, assistant professor of Special Centre for Study of Northeast India at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
It stated that 20 persons from all over India presented papers in five technical sessions.
The seminar ended with concluding remarks from the keynote speaker and vote of thanks by Dr. Vitsou Yano, principal of Modern College. Altogether, 49 persons from Nagaland attended the seminar.
