Dimapur, Oct. 30 (EMN):
Leader of Naga People’s Front (NPF) legislature party, Kuzholuzo Nienu, on Sunday stated that along with the fast-changing world, it is time for people to also change their mindsets and think about  what he or she can do for the community and country and not vice versa.

He said that knowledge is like a crown on the head and it can be used either for good or evil purposes, while lamenting over people using knowledge negatively. Education is therefore proving to be counter-productive, he said.

Nienu was speaking at the 18th Nagaland Muslim students’ felicitation programme organised by the Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) at Christian Higher Secondary School in Dimapur.

He therefore urged the students to maintain the tempo of success, while stating that the Dimapur Muslim community today is ‘no more backward’ as they have advanced both in education and economy.

He also appreciated the MCD motto ‘Unity, integrity and communal harmony’ and urged fellow Nagas to also adopt the motto in letter and spirit.

Further, Nienu suggested that various student unions in Nagaland should have felicitation programmes instead of conferences and meetings. He opined that conferences and meetings are ‘good’ but they do not produce results, unlike felicitation programmes which encourage students to produce good results.

Special invitee, AS Tafadar, advocate, said that people of other states should come to Dimapur to see the activities of MCD and learn how to lead the community with example.

Tafadar shared that the students were fortunate to have the support of the community elders and congratulated all the students for their excellent performances and achievements which, he said, will definitely inspire other students.

President of MCD, A Hannan Tapadar, delivered the welcome address; president of Naga Council Dimapur, Etsungmomo Kikon, president of Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum, Y Kikon, administrator of Dimapur Municipal Council, Albert Ezung, and vice president, BJP Nagaland, Basu Damani, also addressed the programme.
