Nagaland: Miss Kohima 2025 kicks off with orientation and sashing ceremony

DIMAPUR — The journey to the coveted crown of Miss Kohima 2025 officially began on Friday with the orientation and sashing ceremony held at the Nagaland Institute of Science and Technology in Kohima.

An update issued on Friday informed that the event brought together organisers, partners and 16 contestants for a celebration that marks the beginning of a transformative journey.

This year, contestants are said to embark on a path that goes beyond appearances, stepping into roles of responsibility, confidence and service to the community.

Show Director and Co-Founder Theja Sekhose emphasised the essence of this year's theme, ‘Beauty. Health. Beyond’. He said: “True beauty shines brightest when it is rooted in good health. Real progress uplifts communities and creates a future where wellness and dignity walk hand in hand. The crown is not only a recognition, but also a responsibility to serve.”

This year, Miss Kohima is privileged to collaborate with Putuonuo Hospital, an institution that has set high standards in medical excellence and patient-centered care.

Through this partnership, the contestants are said to participate in a full-day session on October 4, gaining insights into health advocacy and learning how to use their voices to inspire, educate and lead.

During the orientation programme, a session on personal branding through social media was conducted by Pewe Tunyi Khamo.

After the formal event it was followed by the talent round where the contestants competed for the subtitle Miss Talent, hosted by Thejakhrienuo Nakhro, with panel of judges; Kevizenuo Dozo, Sentiein Kichu and Neitho Khamo.

The talent round was a celebration of expression and creativity where contestants share their God given gifts and transformed them into inspiring performances and the result will be declared on the grand finale scheduled to be held on Oct. 14 from 1 pm onwards.

Since 2023, the organisers of Miss Kohima, 4front event management, has provided a platform to empower young women, giving them the opportunity to advocate for meaningful causes while showcasing grace, confidence and intelligence.

September 20: Official Photoshoot (profile photos, videos, Miss Multimedia content)

September 22–27th: Sponsor Activity (creative social media promotions)

October 4: Health Advocacy with Putuonuo Hospital

October 6–10th: Grooming Period (guided by Mrs. Pewe Tunyi Khamo and mentors)

October 13: Final Rehearsals at RCEMPA

October 14: Main Show at 1:00 pm, RCEMPA
