Nagaland: Man dies in accident on Changtongya-Longleng highway
DIMAPUR — In a tragic incident, a man was killed on the spot when a truck tipped over and crashed on top of his vehicle, a Maruti Gypsy, along the Longleng – Changtongya highway on Friday evening.
The 38-year-old man, who was from Orangkong village in Longleng district, was said to be on his way to attend a funeral service of a relative in Changtongya.
The accident took place at around 2:30 pm on May 19.
The 10-wheeler vehicle, which was loaded with stone chips, fell on top of the vehicle that was parked on the side of the road to give way to the truck.
A family member, who was travelling with the victim, is also said to be seriously injured and undergoing treatment in Mokokchung.
It was also reported that an angry mob had set the truck on fire on Friday evening after the tragic incident.
The driver of the truck was said to be absconding till the time of filing this report.
