Nagaland Lokayukta Bill introduced

At a time when several sections of the Naga society have been pressing the state government for introducing the Lokayukta Bill in Nagaland, it comes as good news for the state as a whole that the Nagaland Lokayukta Bill/Act has finally been introduced in the state assembly today.
Along with the Lokayukta Bill, three other government bills were also passed on the second day of the budget session.

The other three are the Nagaland Protection of Interests of Depositors (in Financial Establishment) Bill 2014, Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Bill 2015, and Nagaland State Legislature Members (Removal of Disqualification) First Amendment Bill 2015. The consideration and passing of the bills will be taken up only on July 24.
The list of business on the second day of the session included laying of reports/papers/rules including the Nagaland State Commission for protection of child Rights Rules, 2015, Nagaland Poisons (Concentrated Acid & corrosive Substance) Possession and Sale Rules, 2015, Annual Report for the year 2013-14 and 2014-15 of the Nagaland Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Nagaland Economic Summary 2014-15, Nagaland Stamp (Prevention of Under-Valuation of Instruments) Rules, 2015 and Annual Report (2010-2011) of the Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NSMDC).
During the session, the new Advocate General Nagaland Vikramjit Banerjee was also introduced to the members of the house.
