DIMAPUR — The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Nagaland state on Saturday announced that the party will contest the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections.

The decision to contest was decided during the party’s state unit executive meeting held at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur, on Saturday.

Interacting with media persons following the meeting, LJP (RV) Nagaland spokesperson Yitachu informed that the party will be contesting the ULB elections as they pertain to local self-governance at the town level.

He said the ULBs are of great interest to everyone as they impact essential services such as water supply, roads, footpaths, drainage systems, and electricity and influence all aspects of town life.

And without public participation, people cannot effectively advocate for their civil rights, Yitachu.
