The chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima team on Friday collected as many as 288 samples at the premises of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) complex for Covid-19 tests in view of the upcoming seventh session of the 13th NLA to be held in Kohima from February 12 to the 20th.

The CMO team collected a total of 161 samples from Assembly officials, security personnel, and media personnel among others at the NLA complex between 1 pm and 4 pm on Friday.

The same team had earlier collected about 127 samples from the secretariat staff and those attending the upcoming NLA sessions.

It was also learnt that the samples of the legislators, who will attend the assembly sessions, were also collected from old CM’s bungalow.

The sample collection may likely to continue till Saturday at the Assembly Complex.

Meanwhile, NLA commissioner and secretary, Dr. PJ Anthony has acknowledged the CMO team for their service. He expressed hope that the coming Assembly session will be peaceful as there will be no visitors owing to Covid-19 protocols as well as limited number of government officials and media personnel.
