Nagaland: KVK Peren, Kohima webcast PM Kisan Samman Sammelan

Dimapur, Oct. 17 (EMN): The inaugural programme of the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was webcast by ICAR-KVK Peren, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, at KVK Peren office on Monday.

An update informed that the special guest of the event, Chahutkerin, BJP general secretary, Kisan Morcha, Peren district, in his address stressed on the importance of agriculture for improving the livelihood of the farming community.

He advised the farmers to be sincere in executing their works and avail all the government facilities for enhancing production and productivity of major crops in the district.

Dr. Patu Khate Zeliang, ACTO GPB, spoke on the importance of rabi vegetable cultivation and encouraged the farmers to cultivate different vegetables in different sections so as to grow multiple crops in a single plot of land.

Dr. L Babita Devi, CTO, animal science, KVK Peren, highlighted on FPO formation and its importance in marketing agriculture products.

Dr. KL Meena, PS and head, KVK Peren, in his welcome address highlighted the objective of the webcasting.

The programme was chaired by Z James Kikon, ACTO soil science.

Different vegetable seeds from IIHR- ICAR, Bengaluru, were distributed to the farmers. Altogether 57 participants comprising of farmers, officials and staff of KVK Peren and FPO attended the programme, it stated.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kohima, also observed webcasting of the inaugural function of PM- Kisan Samman Sammelan at KVK Kohima office, Tesophenyu.

An update informed Rajya Sabha MP S Phangnon Konyak along with officials from directorate of Agriculture attended the programme. All together 41 farmers from adopted DFI villages attended the event, it stated.
