Kohima, April 30 (EMN): Following the joining of 21 Naga People’s Front (NPF) MLAs into Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), the NPF unanimously decided to elect Kuzholuzo Nienu as the leader of NPF legislature wing and Dr. Nganshi K Ao as the party Chief Whip.

Addressing a press conference after a meeting on Saturday, NPF President Shurhozelie Lieziestu informed that the senior NPF legislator Kuzholuzo Nienu was elected as the leader of the NPF legislature wing which was earlier occupied by TR Zeliang.

The party also elected MLA Dr. Nganshi K Ao as the party Chief Whip. He will be authorised to issue any directions to the members of the NPF legislature party in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

“Violation of the direction issued by him shall entail consequences under the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution of India, particularly under paragraph 2(1)”, the party president stated in the appointment order.

As per the rule, the NPF president has already issued appointment orders to both the MLAs on the same day, which will “remain in force till further notice”, he stated.
