Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): Amid backlash over its recent decision to temporarily withdraw non-cooperation towards Indian security forces, which was initiated following the killing of 14 civilians by the security forces in December last year, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) on Tuesday said that it will continue to fight for justice.

The ENPO on Tuesday held a joint consultative meeting at Konyak Union (KU) Hall in Mon after it lifted non co-operation on the Indian security forces on April 28, updated a press statement from the organisation.

ENPO President was said to have stated at the meeting that the people of eastern Nagaland had not given up their stand and that it would continue to fight for justice against the barbaric acts meted out to the innocent civilians on December 4 and 5 in 2021 at Oting village and Mon town respectively, with the support of other Naga brethren.

It clarified that it had temporarily lifted the non co-operation “in order to pave way for smooth physical interaction with the Govt. of India and for arriving at a desired conclusion at the earliest”.

Reiterating its earlier demand for justice, the house further resolved to urge the Union Ministry of Defenceto grant prosecution sanction as sought by the Nagaland government, book the culprits under relevant court for trial and place the action taken in public domain.

It also resolved to urge the Centre to compensate the families of the victims and those who have sustained life-long injuries.

The ENPO went on to say that it would take its own course of action in the event of delay in delivering justice for the victims.
